Good News! Two Teaching Achievements Led by Our Teachers Won the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement

On July 24, the Ministry of Education issued The Decision of Ministry of Education on Approving Award Programs of 2022 National Teaching Achievement Award. Reviewed and determined by National Teaching Achievement Award Review Committee and submitted to the State Council for approval in accordance with Regulations on Teaching Achievement Award, two teaching achievements led by our teachers were awarded the first prize of national teaching achievements: Incubate and Build “High-level”“Ideological and Political Gold Course”-- Construction of Course Resource Platform for Ideological and Political Theory Courses; Construction of An Integrated Training System for Undergraduate, Master’s, and Doctoral Studies in Marxist Theory Oriented by Reserve Talents Urgently Needed by the Country.

Brief Introduction of the Achievement

This project adheres to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, earnestly implements the series of important statements of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the construction, reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, focuses on the reform and innovation of ideological and political courses, has constructed a “6+1” curriculum resource platform for ideological and political courses, and has established five major databases. The project has also created integrated teaching resources for the course “Introduction to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era” and a series of visual teaching materials for Party history learning and education. It has organized brand academic journals and activities such as Photocopying Newspaper Materials • Research on Ideological and Political Theory Teaching in Colleges and Universities, “Weekend Theory Lecture Hall” of the Ministry of Education, “One Class Together” of Beijing, “Green Pepper Forum” of ideological and political teachers, and has established a “Big Ideological and Political Course” education pattern. It makes full use of new media and technology, conducts comprehensive exploration in teaching modes, lesson preparation methods, scientific research forms and other aspects, and creates a curriculum resource platform for ideological and political courses to achieve innovative breakthroughs in many aspects. At the same time, it relies on the advantages of the construction of Marxist theory subject groups of Renmin University of China, and realizes the comprehensive strengthening of platform construction, the continuous deepening of discipline foundation, the unprecedented improvement of curriculum effect, and the continuous improvement of teachers’ literacy.

Brief Introduction of the Achievement

Adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and fully implementing the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, School of Marxism Studies at Renmin University of China is committed to promoting the construction of an integrated training system for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in Marxist theory, serving the overall development of the Party and the country, and focusing on cultivating high-level innovative talents urgently needed in key areas of the country. In 2005, the first level discipline of the theory of Marxism and all second-level disciplines of it were established; 2018, we launched the first batch of undergraduate enrollment of the theory of Marxism, and took the lead in realizing the integrated training for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies in Marxist theory in universities in China. Our college has the most complete Marxist theoretical disciplines and related subject groups in the country, has built the most complete Marxist theoretical discipline talent training system in the country’s universities, and has the only national key first-level discipline for the theory of Marxism among universities in the country. Undergraduate major in the theory of Marxism has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate major construction point. Our college is known as a high ground for Marxist theory teaching and research, and a key town for the cultivation of high-end talents.

Carrying out teaching achievement reward activities nationwide is an important measure to accelerate the construction of an education power and implement the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education. It is also a review and display of achievements of school talent cultivation and the reform of education and teaching. This award-winning project is an innovative achievement made by our teachers who devote themselves to education, which fully reflects the outstanding achievements made by our teachers in recent years in persisting in educating people with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, deepening the reform and innovation of ideological and political theory courses, and improving the quality of talent training.
